- Quarry Dene

A prestigious and secure gated development, adjoining Meanwood Park and itself in seven acres of beautifully landscaped woodland and feature slopes, Quarry Dene is a superior development in a quality environment.

This Jacobean style villa, built between 1881 and 1886 was designed by Leeds architect William Henry Thorp. The main house was skilfully and sympathetically refurbished into three substantial family homes each unique and full of character.

The former stables, also converted into generous and highly individual three bedroom houses were originally built in 1881 – 1883 were described as being of a ‘vernacular revival’ style. New build properties were also successfully integrated into the scheme with 5 bedroom houses, and two bedroom modern apartments of a suitably luxurious specification.

Barwick Developments received the "City of Leeds Award for Architecture" for this development in 1998.
